Studio TAIM Design, the parent company to Averie Harris Design, is a design studio founded by Averie Harris, named after the initials of the wonderful women that stood and worked by her side through design school. Specializing in curated and functional design, her goal is to design with a purpose, intentionality and with a holistic approach - providing beautiful and sustainable spaces without sacrificing functionality.

Taking 4 years of residential architecture in high school, attending Aquinas College for Business & Marketing, and later graduating from Kendall College of Art & Design with a BFA in Interior Design in 2020, design and creativity have always been at the core of Averie’s passions. While attending design school, internships at leading architecture and design firms, Ghafari Associates and Steelcase, have helped guide her to bring a diverse perspective to all projects. Averie began her professional design career working under a successful residential designer in Grand Rapids, MI. A year and a half later, she and her design partner co-founded Custom Haus, a full-service boutique architectural and interior design firm. With cohesiveness at the forefront of every design, the pair was successful in bringing their client’s design dreams to life.

Now, Averie focuses on honing in on her craft by nurturing her projects with the attention to detail they deserve. With a rich background in design, food, fashion, marketing and business, and inspired by nature, the human experience, and architectural restoration, Averie pulls inspiration from multiple facets of the world. This enables her to create rich and compelling spaces, while maintaining the ability to create and communicate project packages that document every aspect of the design process, allowing for a seamless design, and capturing the individuality of each and every client. With a strong vision to bring purpose into the interiors her clients use everyday, curating spaces that tell a story about those who inhabit the dwelling is essential to the success and functionality of every project.
