GROUNDED MODERN

Grounded Modern is a comprehensive main-level renovation designed to bring warmth, cohesion, and quiet sophistication to the heart of the home.

Spanning the foyer, office, mudroom, powder room, pantry, dining room, living room, and dry bar, the design focused on establishing a strong material foundation that could unify each space while allowing individual moments of character to emerge. A continuous layer of light oak flooring was introduced throughout the main level, creating visual continuity and a sense of calm movement from room to room.

Natural materials became the guiding language of the renovation. Marble, quartzite, and slate were thoughtfully integrated to add depth, durability, and tactile richness—each selected not only for its beauty, but for the way it would age gracefully over time. These materials were balanced with warm wood tones and tailored architectural details to soften the home’s modern leanings and introduce a more organic, lived-in sensibility.

The result is a home that feels both refined and grounded—modern in its clarity, yet deeply connected to natural textures and everyday living. Every space was designed to support the rhythms of daily life while maintaining a cohesive visual story rooted in material honesty and thoughtful restraint.
