HOLCOMB HILLS

Perched among the trees and just moments from the shoreline of Lake Michigan, Holcomb Hills was envisioned as a modern retreat that feels deeply connected to its surroundings. Designed as a build-to-suit collaboration, the home embraces its wooded setting with a cantilevered, treehouse-like presence—one that blurs the line between architecture and landscape.

The design direction was rooted in creating an environment that feels layered, integrated, and seamlessly composed. Rich stones, warm woods, and patinated metals were thoughtfully curated to evoke the textures and tones found just beyond the windows, bringing the outdoors inside in a refined and contemporary way. Every material was selected not only for its beauty, but for the way it contributes to an overall sense of warmth, depth, and permanence.

Throughout the home, organic materials are juxtaposed with clean architectural lines and tailored details, creating interiors that feel both sophisticated and effortlessly livable. Sculptural stone elements, softly textured plaster, warm oak millwork, and aged metal accents work together to create a home that is undeniably handsome—moody in moments, luminous in others, and layered from every angle.

The result is an elevated interpretation of organic modernism: contemporary yet timeless, restrained yet richly detailed. A home that feels integrated with its environment, seamlessly connected to nature, and undeniably sexy in its quiet confidence.
