THE LISTENING LOUNGE
The Listening Lounge was conceived as a dedicated environment for music, gathering, and relaxed entertainment—a space designed as much for atmosphere as for experience. Moody tones and layered textures set the foundation, anchored by a textural plaster feature wall that introduces depth and movement. A distinctive bar-front tile and custom mirror detailing establish rhythm and visual interest, reinforcing the lounge’s immersive, design-forward character.
Adjacent to the lounge, a dedicated piano room provides a quieter counterpoint—an intentional extension of the musical narrative within the home. Used daily for practice, the space supports focus and ritual while remaining visually connected to the energy of the lounge.
Together, the rooms create a highly tailored environment that feels intimate, expressive, and distinctly bespoke—designed to celebrate music not just as entertainment, but as a lived experience.

CLIENT REFLECTION
Working with Averie Harris Design was an absolute pleasure. I entrusted Averie with converting my main basement area and spare bedroom into a listening lounge and music room—and the result completely exceeded our expectations. From the very first meeting, Averie demonstrated creative vision, technical skill, and a deep understanding of how to shape the mood and experience.
Every detail was thoughtfully designed—from the colors, furniture and lighting to the textures and layout. The room doesn’t just sound incredible—it feels like a personal sanctuary. Averie took the time to learn what I liked, disliked and the vibe I was going for, and then turned that into a beautiful space where I now spend hours lost in sound.
What really stood out was her ability to blend functionality with design: she created a floating console for my audio equipment, mirror wall, lighting, hung instruments and installed custom mirror panels that look like art. It looks like something out of a high-end design magazine, except it's tailored to us in every way.
